A fun little diversion. I wish there was some kind of indication of what heads were about to expire...a shift in color, perhaps?
EDIT: Saw the Bichromatic diversifier. In that case, maybe filling in part of the head, making it look darker? Or the opposite—having the initial head be shaded/dithered some, and removing that effect over time?
